The Ukrainian couple Bella and Semjon Kalinowsky have been successful in Europe since 1991 and have made it a great focus in their lives to revive the composers of the 19th century who have been forgotten and should be remembered and recognized.
Having had such a goal and making it reality to bring unknown compositions to an interested public has been an involvement of untiring research. Enthusiastic discoveries in archives and libraries, reworking on their own old prints for the piano and the viola and publishing these at well-known German publishing Co´s such as Schott , Edition Peters; Robert Lienau, Furore , Hofmeister. Therefore, extending the repertoire of wonderful and valuable music for the viola. A main focus on their broad range of musical selections has been placed on women composers. The “Duo Kalinowsky” now residing in Lübeck, is now offering the CD collection of women composers, which is very unique and which one has not ever had access to before.
